HISTORY

I & O Assurance is a growing company!  The company was incorporated in 2015 by it's founder, Neil Chapman, in order to leverage and apply his breadth of experience and unique skills in helping companies manage their operating risks.  Neil has 25+ years experience in the oil & gas and public utilities businesses that is sought after by industry.  He is an Operations Auditor - a rare and unique set of skills in industry!
What is an Operations Auditor?

"I am often asked what I do for a profession.  I answer that I am an Operations Auditor.  The comment  is that: "Oh, so you're an accountant."  Fact is, I am not an accountant.  My work experience having worked in both business operations and as an auditor for three large, reputable Canadian businesses, is that I have a unique set of skills to help managers identify and assess risks and controls in their operations and facilities.  I take the time to understand your business, your objectives, and review the risks with management in order to perform tests, which provides assurance that risks are being effectively managed. "

Neil is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and has a MBA from the Unviversity of Calgary.  He has a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Defined Value-Added Assurance Framework

I & O Asssurance Services has developed and applies a rigorous assurance framework to plan, assess and perform an assessment of your operating facilities.  The audit procedures used are based on international auditing standards.  The criteria for each audit is based on your operating environment: be it compliance and regulatory, or whether your own operating standards are applied.  In an environment where standards is not a regulatory requriement, we apply a rigorous audit approach, such that we assess whether your operations follow a PLAN, DO, CHECK, ACT process.
